Learning beyond the classroom

School excursions and School Study Tours (SSTs) enhance students’ learning by providing the opportunities for students to participate in curriculum-related activities outside the normal school routine. School excursions are well-planned curriculum-related activities that aim to maximise students’ learning experiences. SSTs involve international travel for activities including, but not limited to: curriculum related activity, language immersion programs, sporting exchange/activity or a sister school agreement. Here in DIS students are taken out for excursion in and out the city from time to time. Once in a year they are out for a visit to other states and also international study tours are going to be held. Students are told to carry a notebook with them while they are out, so that they can note the ideas, about the things which will be beneficial for them in the future.
