Hostel at DIS
From the word hostel, many imagine a rigid institution, but at DIS the experience is built around care, affection, and community. Boarders live in air-conditioned, well-furnished dormitories with evening tuition on campus, supervised study hours, and support from teachers and sports coaches.
The day begins with jogging and light exercise. Evenings include newspaper reading, educational videos, television programmes, and outings on school holidays. Medical care is available round the clock through hostel nursing support, specialist access, and tie-ups with nearby hospitals, including monthly medical check-ups for boarders.
Hostel fees are collected annually. Students are not permitted to use mobile phones within the hostel, though arrangements are in place for incoming calls from parents or local guardians. Laundry is handled regularly by hostel staff, with sufficient shared bathroom facilities including Indian and Western lavatories. Protection of students is a high priority, with trained security on campus 24 hours a day.
